They’re also one of the most popular breeds for assistance dogs due to their gentle nature and willingness to please.

3. Chesapeake Bay Retriever: Chesapeake Bay retrievers are large dogs that were originally bred for hunting waterfowl in the Chesapeake Bay area. They have a thick, oily coat that protects them from the cold water and harsh weather conditions. Chesapeake’s are strong swimmers and have webbed feet, making them ideal for retrieval work.
